Level of Defence 2 (LOD2) 

Critically and independently review the oversight plans of the clients independent Control team. Reviewing Incident reports, spot check schedules, new business reviews and reporting of near misses to executive management. This effort can be time boxed and undertaken under the guidance of the executive team.

Level of Defence 3 (LOD3)

Perform a pre audit health check of a process, system or department before a scheduled internal audit is performed to allow executive management to take remedial action, if necessary, prior to a formal audit. This effort can be time boxed and undertaken the clients independent control team or risk department.
